Southwest began service to Jackson-Medgar Wiley Evers International Airport in 1997. The airline added Branson Airport and Key West International Airport to its route network in 2012 as part of its integration with AirTran Airways following its takeover of that airline. It is ending service to the three airports with effect from June 7.

Southwest Airlines has confirmed its intent to retain AirTran Airways’ operations at an additional 15 U.S. domestic airports and seven international airports, but Southwest is dropping six AirTran destinations. Over time, Southwest will convert AirTran’s flights to Southwest operations at the 53 AirTran cities it has decided to keep.
