Japan Airlines will add a second daily round-trip on its Tokyo Narita-New York JFK route on March 30. According to JAL Group, Japan Airlines’ parent company, the second daily round-trip will be operated by Boeing 787-8 equipment.

Japan Airlines has set December 2 as the date for the launch of its new non-stop service between Tokyo’s Narita International Airport and San Diego. The airline will fly the new route four times a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.

American Airlines is resuming service between New York JFK and Tokyo’s near-downtown Haneda Airport on June 1. It briefly flew between JFK and Haneda from February 18, 2011, but suspended the service when demand for travel to Japan subsided following Japan’s March 2011 earthquake and tsunami.
