Hospitality and travel company Carlson has announced the opening of the Radisson Hotel Ontario Airport in Ontario, California near Los Angeles.
“This hotel represents the continued momentum in our Ambition 2015 growth strategy,” says Thorsten Kirschke, president of Carlson Hotels, Americas. “Adding another airport location to our growing portfolio is aligned with plans to expand Radisson as a vibrant, contemporary and engaging brand in key city, resort and airport locations globally.”
The 299-room Radisson Hotel Ontario Airport was previously a Marriott. The hotel is planning to begin a $6 million renovation immediately to upgrade its guest rooms, restaurants, ballroom and lobby. The renovation will be done in stages so that daily operations and guests will not be affected and Carlson expects it to be completed in the fall of 2012.
“We are thrilled to be joining Radisson during this exciting turning point in the brand’s history,” says Nicki Reddy, vice president of Prime Hospitality, LLC, which owns the Radisson Hotel Ontario Airport.
The Radisson Hotel Ontario Airport is directly across from the Ontario Convention Center and is less than a mile from Ontario International Airport. The hotel features a fully-equipped health club with racquetball and basketball courts and an outdoor pool. The hotel’s two restaurants include the Pacific Grille and the D Street Bar & Grill. The hotel can accommodate large events with 21,000 square feet of meeting and banquet space.
