On the Nullarbor Plain, the journey includes the longest straight stretch of railway line in the world, a 297-mile (478-kilometer) stretch between Ooldea and Loongana. The Southern Spirit route travels between Adelaide and Brisbane, allowing passengers to take in the sights of four Australian states as it winds through the Great Dividing Range and along Australia’s Eastern Seaboard. Each train journey makes whistle stops at various top destinations including Byron Bay, Alice Springs, The Grampians, Darwin and Adelaide, offering excursions along each route.
