Omni to Build 800-Guestroom Hotel in Downtown Nashville

by Staff on August 24, 2010

Omni Hotels & Resorts and the metropolitan government of the City of Nashville in Tennessee have reached a pre-development agreement for Omni to build a huge new hotel in the city’s downtown area.

The Omni Nashville Hotel will be adjacent to the new 1.2 million-square-foot Music City Convention Center, which is currently under construction and is scheduled for completion in 2013. The new multi-story hotel, which will feature approximately 800 guestrooms and suites and over 80,000 square feet of meeting and event space, is estimated to open later that same year.

Located steps away from the new Country Music Hall of Fame, the Omni Nashville Hotel’s design and decor and its culinary, lifestyle and retail venues will stem from and reflect Nashville, according to Omni Hotels & Resorts.

The hotel will also showcase Nashville’s unique cultural elements and is expected to boast several restaurants, bars and lounges, as well as retail space, a pool, fitness center and a Mokara signature spa, Omni says.

“This project represents a true public-private partnership that will bring substantial economic benefit to our city,” says Nashville Mayor Karl Dean. “We broke ground on our new downtown convention center earlier this year. The headquarters hotel completes the picture for Music City Center and dramatically enhances our ability to market it and reach our goals for growing Nashville’s tourism industry.”

“We are proud to add the Omni Hotels & Resorts flag to Nashville’s dynamic downtown environment,” says Mike Deitemeyer, president of Omni Hotels & Resorts. “The City of Nashville has demonstrated strong and steady leadership in moving this project ahead. We look forward to working with Nashville’s leaders to build upon the city’s growing reputation with a new hotel, convention center and other venues which will further position Nashville as a leading destination.”
