McCurtain County, Oklahoma is marketing its Beavers Bend State Park area as the ideal place for men to reconnect with old high school or college buddies, childhood friends, neighbors, work friends, or fishing and golfing buddies, in outdoor-oriented “Guys’ Getaways”.

The Beavers Bend State Park area in Southeast Oklahoma offers unlimited recreational opportunities to fit every interest and fitness level, according to the McCurtain County Tourism Authority. For hiking and biking enthusiasts, the state park has miles of secluded trails with superb views of mountaintops, waterfalls, an unspoiled lake and streams.

Golf enthusiasts can play championship golf at Idabel Country Club or at Cedar Creek Golf Course, named Best Municipal Golf Course in the state of Oklahoma by Golf Digest. The magazine selected Cedar Creeks’ hole 16 as one of Oklahoma’s hardest holes because the green is relatively small and is virtually surrounded by Broken Bow Lake, making the putting green as close to an island green as you can find without actually being an island.

McCurtain County Tourism Authority says the area has the finest trout fishery in the South Central U.S., offering fishermen plenty of fast-running water for fly-fishing and spinning rod to lure rainbow and brown trout.
