City-to-city bus line Megabus.com is re-launching service to California and Nevada by opening hubs at Los Angeles and San Francisco.

California and Nevada residents will be able to travel express to and from Los Angeles, San Francisco, Oakland, Riverside, Las Vegas, Sparks/Reno, Sacramento and San Jose from $1.

Los Angeles would become a Megabus.com hub on December 12, 2012. In this photograph, one of the company’s double-decker coaches is seen outside the eye-catching Walt Disney Hall in downtown L.A.

Frequent daily service will begin on December 12 and bookings for the services are now open at www.megabus.com.

Fares start from $1 every day and increase gradually as the traveling date gets closer. Megabus.com encourages customers to book early to secure $1 fares.

“Express bus service from new hubs in San Francisco and Los Angeles is another way Megabus.com keeps Americans connected,” says Mike Alvich, Megabus.com’s vice president of marketing and public relations.

To promote the new service, during the first week of travel (December 12 to December 19, 2012), all tickets will be $1.

From December 12, 2012 Megabus.com’s double-decker coaches would become a familiar sight on the I-15 Freeway between Southern California and Las Vegas

“Megabus.com, which previously served West Coast residents in 2007-2008, has returned based on customer demand,” says Alvich. “We’ve seen impressive growth throughout North America and are confident that our 21st-century double-decker buses with Wi-Fi and power outlets combined with our outstanding prices will be a success among California and Nevada residents.”

More than 80 new jobs will be created with Megabus.com’s expansion into Nevada and California, according to the company.

Megabus.com, a subsidiary of Coach USA, launched service in April 2006 and has carried more than 22 million travelers. Megabus.com operates state-of-the-art, green-certified double-decker coaches with free Wi-Fi, power outlets, seat belts and restrooms. Its buses are are wheelchair-accessible.
