Grupo Vidanta has opened a new 5-star luxury resort, The Grand Bliss, in Nuevo Vallarta.

The latest in a collection of six resorts from Grupo Vidanta, The Grand Bliss Nuevo Vallarta will feature 168 suites. Located in the heart of the Nuevo Vallarta Master Plan, The Grand Bliss is a chic, upper-end resort designed to meet the needs of the sophisticated traveler in Mexico.

Features of The Grand Bliss include plunge pools on suite terraces, nearby acres of swimming pools including a wave pool and lazy river, a 5-star kids club, a full-service luxury spa and fitness center and an 18-hole, Nicklaus-designed golf course within walking distance of the resort entrance.

Guests at The Grand Bliss can take their pick of cuisine at six different restaurants within the resort master plan, ranging from Asian fusion to northern Italian and with some restaurants some alfresco and others more formal for fine dining.

Not far from the airport, The Grand Bliss is in the heart of Nuevo Vallarta’s Banderas Bay, featuring a full mile of beachfront access. Guests are shuttled in electric resort carts within the resort.

The entire expanse of the property contains a number of resorts, more than 7 acres of pools, a golf course and many long walkways surrounded by landscaping which rises to a canopy of palm trees. Man-made lakes totaling more than 25 acres in area throughout The Grand Bliss help stimulate the flora and fauna within the resort’s grounds, as does the proximity of the Ameca River.

“The Grand Bliss is a culmination of a unique concept that seeks to combine luxury travel within a harmonious, natural, indigenous setting,” says Michel Beuffe, chief operating officer of Grupo Vidanta.

“The genesis of the project was a desire to return to basics, which all of us are longing for in some form or another. The moment you enter the lobby, you are transported into a different world, a simpler world,” says Arturo Hernandez, Grupo Vidanta’s chief architect. “Through the use of stone textures, wooden beams, detailed furniture design and modern palettes of natural color, guests are immersed into a world that is instantly soothing yet familiar. The true challenge was in integrating these natural concepts in a modern setting.”

“Our goal from the outset was to create a destination that was different from other choices travelers have,” says Eric DuBaele, general manager of The Grand Bliss. “We think the end result is wildly successful in that regard. With some suites sleeping up to eight people, we also designed The Grand Bliss for families and couples who enjoy traveling with family and friends that appreciate more spacious rooms.”
