US Airways is launching new, US Airways Express non-stop service from Cincinnati in Ohio and Des Moines in Iowa to Washington Reagan National Airport on May 2.

The airline announced in January that it will launch non-stop flights to 11 new destinations from Washington Reagan National Airport on March 25.

US Airways says that this spring it will announce more new flights to Reagan National Airport starting July 11.

Various types of regional jets are employed on the US Airways Express network, among them a fleet of 38 Embraer 175s like this one photographed at Philadelphia International Airport. In addition to the Embraer 175s, the US Airways Express network also uses several other fleets of large regional jets, including 14 Bombardier CRJ700s, 38 CRJ900s and 20 Embraer 170s. All of these aircraft feature two-class cabins with domestic First Class seats. Additionally, the network also employs up to 50 Bombardier CRJ200 regional jets, each seating 50 passengers in single-class configuration

“Our new service from Cincinnati and Des Moines will provide a direct link to Washington, D.C. and connections to communities throughout the East Coast,” says Andrew Nocella, US Airways’ senior vice president, marketing and planning. “As we continue to expand at Reagan National, we remain focused on connecting customers in communities of all sizes with our nation’s capital and providing them with convenient flight options and more travel choices.”
