Mexican low-cost carrier Volaris Airlines is launching service from Uruapan in Michoacán state to Los Angeles International Airport on October 2.
Volaris Airlines will operate the route weekly, on Tuesdays.
The carrier’s schedule on the route calls for its weekly flight to depart Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) at 12:10 p.m. each Tuesday and to arrive at Uruapan’s Lic. y Gen. Ignacio López Rayón National Airport (UPN) at 5:25 p.m., local time.
In the other direction, the Volaris flight will leave UPN at 6:15 p.m. and land at LAX at 7:50 p.m., local time.
At Uruapan, Volaris will offer connections to the domestic destinations of Cancún, Monterrey and La Paz for passengers arriving from Los Angeles.
Uruapan will become Volaris Airlines’ seventh Mexican destination served from Los Angeles International Airport. The airline already serves Aguascalientes, Culiacán, Guadalajara, Mexico City, Morelia and Zacatecas from the California city.
Volaris now operates a network of 64 routes linking 25 cities in Mexico and eight in the United States. In the U.S., the airline serves Chicago, Fresno, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Oakland, Orlando, San Diego and San Jose.
Since launching operations in March 2006, Volaris Airlines has grown to operate a fleet of 37 Airbus A320-family jets and the carrier now has more than 2,300 employees.
