Silver Airways is launching a new intra-Montana route with the addition of new, twice-a-day round-trips on weekdays between state capital Helena and Billings.

This expansion brings Silver Airways’ Montana service to nine cities and marks the carrier’s first route in Montana to operate outside its Essential Air Service (EAS) contract with the U.S. Department of Transportation.

The new flights will operate twice each day from Mondays to Fridays between Billings and Helena, beginning on May 1. Silver Airways will initially operate the service with 19-seat Beech 1900D turboprops.

Silver Airways is the renamed Gulfstream International Airlines following acquisition of certain of that carrier's assets by Victory Park Capital in May 2011 following the airline's bankruptcy. Silver Airways' fleet includes 12 34-seat Saab 340Bplus turboprops and 21 19-seat Beech 1900Ds. This is a computer raphic image of a Beech 1900D in Silver Airways' livery. Silver Airways’ flight schedule for its Billings-Helena service will see flight 3M 3561 depart Billings Logan International Airport (IATA code BIL) at 7:05 a.m. and land at Helena Regional Airport (HLN) at 8:05 a.m. Flight 3M 3592 is timed to leave BIL at 2:15 p.m. and to touch down at HLN at 3:15 p.m.

In the other direction, flight 3M 3590 is scheduled to leave HLN at 8:20 a.m. and get to BIL at 9:15 a.m. Flight 3M 3568 departs HLN at 3:30 p.m. and arrives at BIL at 4:25 p.m.

“We’re providing optimal connections through Billings with these new flights for travelers looking for convenient flight options to Helena from Montana’s eastern regions,” says Darrell Richardson, CEO of Silver Airways.

“What makes this announcement so significant is that it is the first time we are adding a service in Montana outside of our EAS contract,” adds Richardson. “This underscores the strength of our commitment to continue to expand our business in Montana and deliver the quality air service our customers have come to expect and trust.”

The carrier is offering introductory fares of $75 each way ($150 round-trip) on its new flights between Billings and Helena for the month of May 2012. To obtain the fares, bookings must be made by May 31 for travel completed by May 31, 2012. The regular fare for tickets purchased 14 days in advance is $99 each way ($198 round-trip).
