Canada’s Porter Airlines is launching a new weekly seasonal route from the New York area to Mont Tremblant, Quebec in late December for the ski season.

From December 22 to April 12, Porter Airlines will operate weekly round-trip flights from Newark Liberty International Airport to La Macaza – Mont-Tremblant International Airport (IATA code YTM) near the base of Mont Tremblant, one of eastern North America’s premier ski destinations.

With a state-of-the-art snow-making system, ski hills, a pedestrian village with a wide array of boutiques, restaurants and plenty of nightlife options, Mont Tremblant has long been a favorite destination for winter sports enthusiasts.

“Canada is world-famous for our award-winning outdoor attractions,” says Robert Deluce, president and CEO of Porter Airlines. “Introducing non-stop flights to Mont Tremblant provides passengers in Greater New York with even easier access to some of the best skiing we have to offer.”

City Centre Terminal Corp, a sister company of Porter Airlines, has built a new $50 million terminal at Billy Bishop Toronto City Centre Airport. The terminal boasts 10 gates, each of which offers covered-walkway access right out to the aircraft

The new schedule includes weekly departures on Thursday mornings, return flights on Monday mornings from December 26 to January 2, and return flights on Sunday mornings from January 8 to April 12.

Passengers can also connect through Toronto for greater travel flexibility, with Porter Airlines operating 11 weekly departure times from its hub at Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport to Mont Tremblant and 10 return options.

“The non-stop flight from New York with Porter is a great opportunity for our guests to enjoy a drastic change of scenery in only 90 minutes or so,” says Alain Houde, directeur général of Tourisme Mont-Tremblant.  “They can maximize their leisure time and hit the slopes in record time.”

Porter Airlines will offer the only non-stop service between Newark Liberty International Airport and Mont Tremblant. The carrier operates a fleet of more than 20 Bombardier Q400 and Q400 NextGen turboprop regional airliners.

The airline is partnering with travel specialist Ultimate Ski Vacations to provide air-inclusive packages, including lift tickets and accommodations, with a “best price guarantee”. Skiing and snowboarding packages can be customized by visiting www.ultimateski.ca or calling 1-800-465-3034.

The airline offers flights to Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, Quebec City, Moncton, Halifax, St. John’s, Thunder Bay, Sault Ste. Marie, Sudbury, Windsor, Newark, Chicago Midway, Boston Logan, and seasonal flights to Mt. Tremblant in Quebec and Myrtle Beach in South Carolina.
