JetBlue Airways is transferring from Long Beach Airport to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) its daily LA-area nonstop service to Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport (FLL), with effect from May 11.
Flights are on sale at www.jetblue.com/new from $119 each way plus taxes and fees for bookings made through February 3, 2011. A 14-day advance purchase is required and travel must be completed by June 22.
Although it is shifting its Fort Lauderdale service from Long Beach to LAX, JetBlue Airways is reinforcing its overall schedule at Long Beach with a fourth and fifth daily nonstop flight to Las Vegas starting February 3 and new direct service to Anchorage, Alaska beginning May 23.
From May 11, JetBlue’s schedule between LAX and FLL will see its daily flight depart LAX at 10:15 p.m. and arrive at FLL at 6:00 a.m. the next day, local time. In the other direction, JetBlue’s flight will leave FLL at 6:55 p.m. and land at LAX at 9:22 p.m. local time.
For customers flying on its new LAX service, JetBlue says it will offer seamless connecting service at Fort Lauderdale to Nassau in the Bahamas; San Juan, Puerto Rico; and Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic.
JetBlue has served LAX since 2009. In most seasons the carrier offers four coast-to-coast flights daily from LAX to New York John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) and twice-daily service to Boston. Other options are available to customers from Burbank and Long Beach airports.
From Long Beach Airport (LGB), JetBlue offers 30 daily flights to Austin, Texas; Boston; Chicago O’Hare; Las Vegas; New York JFK; Portland, Oregon; Salt Lake City; Seattle; and Washington Dulles. JetBlue also offers many-times-daily, intra-California service from LGB to Oakland, Sacramento and San Francisco.
