JetBlue Airways will launch a new route between Fort Lauderdale Hollywood International Airport and Pittsburgh International Airport on October 29.

JetBlue Airways will launch a new route between Fort Lauderdale Hollywood International Airport and Pittsburgh International Airport on October 29.

The daily service from Pittsburgh to Fort Lauderdale Hollywood International Airport (IATA code FLL) will complement JetBlue Airways’ existing route from Pittsburgh to Boston Logan International Airport, and is one of five upcoming routes the carrier has announced for Fort Lauderdale Hollywood in 2014 and 2015.

JetBlue Airways took delivery of its first Embraer 190 on September 13, 2005. The airline, which was the launch customer for the Embraer 190 and operates the type in a 100-seat configuration, has ordered more than 80 Embraer 190s and continues to take delivery of aircraft from its orders

To promote the new route, JetBlue Airways is offering introductory one-way fares starting at $79 for travel between October 29 and December 17, 2014 on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. Blackout dates of November 20 to December 1, 2014 apply. The sale tickets must be purchased by April 15. A 21-day advance purchase is required.

“Pittsburghers have asked for a non-stop, year-round connection to Florida,” says Robin Hayes, JetBlue Airways’ president. “With the introduction of this service, customers will not only save time, but also save money as this is traditionally a high-fare route.”

Adds Hayes: “Besides access to South Florida , this will also meet the great demand for travels onwards to the Caribbean and Latin America.”

JetBlue’s schedule for the Pittsburgh-Fort Lauderdale Hollywood route will see its daily flight depart Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT) at 7:15 a.m. daily from October 29 and land at FLL at 10:00 a.m.
