JetBlue Airways has launched daily nonstop service between Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) and Phoenix International Airport (PHX).
The airline is operating the new route with Airbus A320s. On the service JetBlue Airways is offering travelers amenities that include unlimited free snacks and drinks; assigned, all-leather seats; 36 channels of free DIRECTV programming and more than 100 channels of XM Satellite Radio on flights inside the United States; and a free first-checked bag.
Already claiming to carry the most customers to the most nonstop destinations from Boston, JetBlue numbers Phoenix as its 38th nonstop destination from Logan. The new route comes in addition to what JetBlue says is a 30 per cent increase in its BOS departures this summer.
JetBlue is offering a $99 one-way introductory fare (plus taxes and fees) for BOS-PHX travel booked by September 4 for travel through October 30.
The airline’s schedule between Boston and Phoenix calls for its daily flight B6 407 to depart BOS at 7:30 a.m. and arrive at PHX at 10:09 a..m. local time. In the other direction, flight B6 408 is scheduled to leave PHX at 11:00 a.m. and to reach BOS at 6:58 p.m. local time.

Over the course of its summer expansion, JetBlue has added more flights from Boston to key business destinations including Baltimore; Charlotte; Chicago; Denver; Raleigh/Durham, North Carolina; and San Diego, as well as top sun destinations including Aruba; Cancun, Mexico; Fort Lauderdale; Montego Bay, Jamaica; Punta Cana, Dominican Republic; and San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Under its expanded schedule, JetBlue now offers approximately 75 flights per day from Boston.
JetBlue also recently announced seven daily roundtrips from Boston Logan to Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, from November 1; daily nonstop service to Sarasota Bradenton, Florida from November 18; and four daily roundtrips to Newark, New Jersey from May 2011.
