Brazil’s GOL Linhas Aéreas Inteligentes is beginnning service to Buenos Aires’ near-downtown airport Aeroparque Jorge Newbery on December 4.
GOL Linhas Aéreas Inteligentes will offer three daily round-trips to Aeroparque Jorge Newbery from São Paulo’s Guarulhos International Airport, one of them originating and terminating at Tancredo Neves International Airport, which serves the city of Confins in Minas Gerais state.
Tickets are already available for purchase through GOL’s sales channels, including www.voegol.com.
GOL says its new service to Aeroparque Jorge Newbery will offer customers flying to Buenos Aires more options and greater comfort, as the airport is just 10 minutes from downtown Buenos Aires.
The airline will operate Boeing 737-800 seating 184 passengers on the route.
“We believe that the flights will be most popular among business travelers who need to travel to Buenos Aires but don’t always have time to devote to the hour-long trip from Ezeiza [Buenos Aires’ main international airport],” says Claudia Jordão Ribeiro Pagnano, GOL’s vice president of markets.
In order to add the new service, GOL has relocated some flights from Ezeiza to Aeropoarque. Beginning December 4, GOL will offer eight direct flights between Ezeiza and Brazil.
“We’ve organized our network considering passenger demand and the company’s operational needs. We’ll offer three flights – morning, afternoon and evening – to Aeroparque. The flight schedule allows the bussiness passengers to go and return at the same day,” says Leonardo Pereira, GOL’s vice president of finance, strategy and IT.
GOL’s schedule between Guarulhos International Airport (GRU) and Aeroparque Jorge Newbery (AEP) calls for flight G3 7678 to depart GRU at 8:00 a.m. and arrive at AEP at 10:50 a.m. local time. Flight G3 7680 will originate at Confins’ Tancredo Neves International Airport (CNF) at 10:10 a.m. and arrive at GRU at 11:25 a.m. Under the same flight number, the flight will then leave GRU at 12:10 p.m. and land at AEP at 3:00 p.m. Flight G3 7682 is timed to push back at GRU at 7:25 p.m. in order to reach AEP at 9:15 p.m. (Given the durations of the other GRU-AEP flights, GOL may have listed this schedule time incorrectly: Editor.)
In the other direction, flight G3 7679 is timed to leave Aeroparque at 11:50 a.m. and touch down at Guarulhos at 2:35 p.m. Flight G3 7681 will depart AEP at 3:50 p.m. and land at GRU at 6:30 p.m. Under the same flight number, the flight will then leave GRU again at 7:10 p.m. in order to make an arrival at Confins at 8:25 p.m. Flight G3 7683 is scheduled to puch back from the gate at AEP at 10:40 p.m. and arrive at GRU at 2:30 a.m. (Again, this may be a schedule mistake on the part of GOL, given the listed durations of the other flights: Editor.)
Serving Argentina since 2005, GOL says it offers more flights from Argentina to Brazil than any other airline, the carrier operating 78 round-trip flights a week between the two countries. GOL serves Buenos Aires, Córdoba and Rosário from Brazil and offers 11 daily flights from the Argentinean capital to São Paulo, Porto Alegre, Florianopolis and Rio de Janeiro in Brazil, as well as to Santiago in Chile and Assunção in Paraguay.
