Frontier Airlines has launched nonstop service between its hub at Milwaukee’s General Mitchell International Airport (MKE) and San Antonio International Airport (SAT), offering four weekly round-trip flights.

The inaugural flight, F9 1048, departs San Antonio at 6:05 p.m. CST on November 19. (‘F9′ is Frontier Airlines’ two-character IATA flight prefix.)

Frontier Airlines’ schedule for the Milwaukee-San Antonio route calls for its flight to depart MKE at 2:25 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays and to land at SAT at 5:30 p.m. In the other direction, the flight is timed to leave SAT at 6:05 p.m. on the same days and to reach MKE at 8:55 p.m.

Republic Airways Holdings Inc subsidiary operated 15 Embraer 190s as of October 2010 and its parent company has ordered up to another 24 Embraer 190s and Embraer 195s for Frontier, as well as taking options on 24 more

The new Milwaukee-San Antonio service complements Frontier’s twice-daily roundtrip flights between San Antonio and Denver International Airport (DEN).

Frontier, a subsidiary of Republic Airways Holdings, is operating 99-seat Embraer 190 aircraft on the Milwaukee-San Antonio route. Customers on board these aircraft are seated in leather seats in a two-by-two configuration with no middle seats. In addition, the E190 has several rows of Frontier ‘STRETCH’ seating, which provides an extra 5 inches of legroom.

The carrier’s Embraer 190 fleet will be outfitted for in-flight internet service by early 2011.
