Republic Airways Holdings subsidiary Frontier Airlines has launched an expansion of its schedule at Omaha Eppley Airfield (OMA) with the return of seasonal non-stop service to Orlando (MCO) and St. Petersburg/Clearwater (PIE) and the launch of new non-stop, year-round service to San Diego (SAN).

Four-times-weekly non-stop service between Omaha and Orlando begins on January 15. Three-times weekly non-stop services linking Omaha with San Diego and twice-weekly round-trips between Omaha and St. Petersburg/Clearwater both begin on January 16.


Frontier Airlines will also launch non-stop service from Omaha to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) on February 14.

The airline will operate Embraer 190s – which will actually be flown by sister carrier Republic Airlines – on each of the new routes. Frontier’s Embraer 190s feature all-leather seating in a two-by-two configuration. In Frontier’s cabin configuration, the Embraer 190 also is equipped with four rows of STRETCH seating, which provides an additional five inches of legroom. The aircraft will also feature in-flight Wi-Fi from the spring of 2011.

Republic Airways Holdings Inc subsidiary operated 15 Embraer 190s as of October 2010 and its parent company has ordered up to another 24 Embraer 190s and Embraer 195s for Frontier, as well as taking options on 24 more

From January 15 to February 13, Frontier Airlines’ service from Omaha to Orlando is timed to leave OMA at 8:20 a.m. and land at MCO at 12:23 p.m. local time on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. In the other direction, the flight is scheduled to depart MCO at 12:53 p.m. and arrive at OMA at 3:09 p.m.local time.

Starting on February 14 and continuing to April 16, Frontier Airlines’ Omaha-Orlando service increases in frequency to five times weekly and will operate on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. It will push back from the gate at OMA at 8:15 a.m. in order to make a 12:18 p.m. arrival at MCO, local time. In the other direction, the flight will depart MCO at 12:53 p.m. and reach OMA at 3:09 p.m. local time.

From January 16 to February 13, Frontier’s three-time weekly flight from Omaha to San Diego is scheduled to leave OMA at 3:46 p.m. and arrive at SAN at 5.00 p.m. local time, on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. The return flight is timed to push back from the gate at SAN at 5:30 p.m. and get to OMA at 10:25 p.m. local time.

Starting on February 14, Frontier Airlines’ Omaha-San Diego service will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. It will leave OMA at 3:40 p.m. and touch down at SAN at 4:40 p.m. local time. On the way back, the flight will depart SAN at 5:25 p.m. and land at OMA at 10:20 p.m. local time.

Frontier’s seasonal service between Omaha and St. Petersburg/Clearwater International Airport is scheduled to operate twice a week, on Wednesdays and Sundays, from January 16 to April 17. The flight from Omaha is timed to leave OMA at 8:20 a.m. and arrive at PIE at 12:18 p.m. local time. In the other direction, the flight will push back from the gate at PIE at 12:55 p.m. and touch down at OMA at 3:00 p.m. local time.
