This winter, Delta Air Lines will expand its seasonal Atlanta non-stop service to Montrose/Telluride in Colorado from Saturday-only to daily service beginning on December 18.
The Atlanta-Montrose/Telluride daily non-stop service — which will operate to Montrose Regional Airport (MTJ) — will run until April 3, 2011. Service will be operated by 76-seat Bombardier CRJ900 regional jets (which will feature 64 Coach and 12 First Class Seats) operated by one or more Delta Connection carriers and on 142-seat Boeing MD-90s operated by Delta Air Lines itself.
“Delta continues to grow our hub in Atlanta with the daily seasonal to Montrose/Telluride,” says Joe Esposito, Delta’s managing director for schedule planning. “Our Montrose/Telluride customers have one-stop access from our eastern hub to 227 destinations across North America, Europe, Asia, Africa and Latin America.”
“The expanded daily Atlanta winter service will also offer great connections for international guests,” says Scott Stewart, executive director of the Telluride Montrose Regional Air Organization. “Convenient one-change-of-plane connections to Montrose/Telluride from Mexico and Central and South America, in particular, will be available via Delta’s Atlanta hub and the expanded daily Atlanta-to-Montrose/Telluride flight.”
The schedule for Delta’s daily nonstop service between Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) and Montrose Regional Airport calls for flight DL4847 to depart ATL at 9:35 a.m. and to reach MTJ at 11:33 a.m. The return flight, DL4848, is timed to leave MTJ at 12:15 p.m. and land at ATL at 5:30 p.m.
Delta is offering a special introductory airfare starting from $139 each way to/from Atlanta plus applicable taxes and fees to celebrate the expansion to daily winter Atlanta service to Montrose/Telluride. Introductory airfares are also available for travel from other key markets in the Southeast and East U.S. to MTJ. With these fares, tickets must be purchased no later than July 6, 2010 and travel may begin on or after January 3, 2011. Travel must be completed by February 10, 2011.
