US Airways is launching daily, non-stop service on September 5 from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport and San Antonio International Airport to the airline’s main international gateway at Philadelphia International Airport.

According to US Airways, the new flights to Philadelphia International Airport will offer customers in two of the largest cities in Texas access to destinations throughout the East Coast, Canada, Europe and the Middle East.


On September 5, also, US Airways will introduce a sixth daily flight between Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport and Philadelphia. The airline will also add a fourth and fifth daily flight between New York JFK and its hub at Charlotte Douglas International Airport in Charlotte, North Carolina.

“The launch of service from Austin and San Antonio to our international gateway at Philadelphia will expand travel options for our customers in Texas,” says Andrew Nocella, senior vice president, marketing and planning for US Airways. “In addition, we also look forward to offering travelers more access to two of the nation’s top business destinations.”

US Airways will operate its services from Philadelphia to Austin and San Antonio on 99-passenger, dual-class Embraer 190 jets.

The airline’s flight schedule from Philadelphia International Airport (IATA code PHL) to Austin-Bergstrom International (AUS) will see flight US1775 leaving PHL at 5:50 p.m. and reaching AUS at 8:39 p.m. local time.

In the other direction, flight US1778 is timed to push back from the gate at AUS at 7:45 a.m. and touch down at PHL at 12:08 p.m. local time.

US Airways’ service from Philadelphia to San Antonio International Airport (SAT) calls for flight US1607 to depart PHL at 6:10 p.m. and arrive at SAT at 9:13 p.m. local time.

In the other direction, flight US1634 is scheduled to begin taxiing at SAT at 8:15 a.m. and get to PHL at 12:14 p.m. local time.

US Airways will operate its additional flights from Charlotte to New York JFK with 124-passenger, two-class Airbus 319s. The airline will operate its new flights from Philadelphia to Dallas with 150-passenger, two-class Airbus 320s.

The schedule for US Airways’ additional flights from Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) to John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) will see flight US1432 leave CLT at 7:40 a.m. and reach JFK at 9:30 a.m. Flight US1253 will depart CLT at 8:10 p.m. and touch down at JFK at 10:01 p.m.

In the other direction, flight US1254 will begin taxiing at JFK at 8:25 a.m. and get to CLT at 10:26 a.m. Flight US1255 is timed to push back from the gate at JFK at 10:15 a.m. and land at CLT at 12:16 p.m.

US Airways’ additional flight from Philadelphia to Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW), flight US1198, is scheduled to leave PHL at 4:00 p.m. and touch down at DFW at 6:39 p.m. local time. In the other direction, flight US1144 will depart DFW at 8:35 a.m. and reach PHL at 12:47 p.m. local time.
