Allegiant Air is launching twice-weekly nonstop service between Lexington, Kentucky and Las Vegas on November 16, using Boeing 757-200s.

The carrier will introduce the new service to Central Kentucky residents with fares from $104.98 one way, not including taxes and government fees. While a “convenience fee” of $16.99 per passenger is included in the introductory fare, Allegiant Air will charge an additional $14.99 fee per segment when customers purchase their tickets through Allegiant call centers.

Purchases made at any Allegiant airport ticket office will not incur a convenience or call-center fee. When purchased at the time of booking, a checked-bag fee of up to $29.99 per bag will apply per person, per segment.

Allegiant’s $104.98 one-way introductory fare is limited, must be purchased by September 21 and is valid for travel between November 16, 2011, and February 14, 2012. The Allegiant Air introductory fare is not available on all flights.

“This is incredibly exciting news for Lexington and the entire Central Kentucky region,” says Eric Frankl, executive director of Lexington’s Blue Grass Airport. “Allegiant has been a great partner in our community and this will represent the fourth city they will now serve out of Lexington in addition to Punta Gorda/Ft. Myers, Orlando and Tampa Bay. I have talked with many people over the past few years about the possibility of nonstop service to Las Vegas and now Allegiant is making that happen.”

The new flights will operate twice each week between Blue Grass Airport (LEX) and Las Vegas McCarran International Airport (LAS), with Allegiant Air operating the round-trips on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Allegiant Air’s Lexington-Las Vegas flights will depart LEX at 3:45 p.m. and land at LAS at 5:00 p.m., local time. In the other direction, Allegiant’s flights will leave LAS at 8:00 a.m. and land at LEX at 2:30 p.m. local time. The carrier will use 217-seat Boeing 757-200s on the route.
