AirTran Airways is launching nonstop, seasonal service to L.F. Wade International Airport in Bermuda (BDA) from Baltimore/Washington Thurgood Marshall International Airport (BWI) and Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL).
Bermuda represents a new destination in AirTran Airways’ international route network, which includes Aruba; Cancun in Mexico; Montego Bay in Jamaica; Nassau in the Bahamas; and Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic.
Nonstop flights to Bermuda will be available daily from Baltimore/Washington from April 7 through October 24, 2011, while daily service from Atlanta to Bermuda will begin on May 26 and continue through September 6.
“Bermuda is delighted to welcome new air services from AirTran. With such strong business, cultural and educational ties with both Atlanta and the Baltimore-Washington area, the introduction of these two new flights brings with it a choice in direct air service along with added seats at lower fares,” says Bermuda’s Minister of Transport, the Honourable Terry Lister. “And given AirTran’s proven track record of entering new markets and succeeding, this will undoubtedly bring about additional visitors to our shores. We look forward to a long-standing relationship with AirTran.”
Connections to Bermuda will be available from more than 45 cities throughout the AirTran Airways network via Baltimore/Washington and Atlanta, including New York, Boston, Orlando, Milwaukee and many other U.S. cities.
