AirTran Airways is continuing to expand its Caribbean flight schedule with daily service to Aruba and Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic from the low-cost carrier’s hub in Atlanta, as well as a new weekly round-trip from Milwaukee to Cancun in Mexico.

Seasonal service will begin to several of the airline’s most popular spring and summer destinations in the coming weeks, including new, non-stop flights from Baltimore/Washington to San Francisco.

AirTran Airways will launch daily nonstop service between Atlanta and Aruba on March 7, 2011. The airline’s flight FL1807 will leave Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) at 9:25 a.m. on Saturdays and Sundays and land at Aruba’s Reina Beatrix Airport (AUA) at 2:30 p.m. local time. On the other five days of the week, AirTran’s flight FL1805 will depart ATL at 10:25 a.m. and arrive at AUA at 3:30 p.m. local time.

In the other direction, the carrier’s flight FL1806 will push back from the gate at AUA at 4:25 p.m. every day in order to reach ATL at 7:50 p.m. local time.

From February 16, AirTran will operate daily service between Atlanta and Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ, the busiest airport in the Dominican Republic). Flight FL1238 is timed to push back from the gate at ATL at 10:50 a.m. and touch down at PUJ at 3:25 p.m. local time. The return flight, FL1239, is scheduled to leave PUJ at 4:33 p.m. and land at ATL at 7:40 p.m. local time.

In addition to Aruba and Punta Cana, AirTran Airways is also expanding its service from Atlanta to Cancun to twice-daily round-trips on February 16. AirTran is also beginning seasonal service from Atlanta to Bermuda on May 26 and resuming seasonal, non-stop service from Atlanta to Portland, Maine on May 4.

AirTran Airways is launching seasonal service from Baltimore-Washington International Airport (BWI) to San Francisco International Airport (SFO) on May 26. The daily flight FL1190 is timed to leave BWI at 8:14 p.m. and to get to SFO at 11:09 p.m. local time. In the other direction, flight FL1191 is scheduled to depart SFO at 11:59 p.m. and to reach BWI at 8:14 a.m. the next day, local time.

In addition, AirTran will begin seasonal service from Baltimore/Washington to Los Angeles on March 8 and to Seattle on May 4. The airline will also begin previously announced service to Bermuda and increase its existing service to San Juan, Puerto Rico, to twice daily on April 5. AirTran will also add a second round-trip on Saturdays and Sundays from BWI to Montego Bay, Jamaica on February 26.

AirTran Airways will expand service at Milwaukee’s General Mitchell International Airport (MKE) this summer with new, weekly service to Cancun in Mexico. From May 28, the carrier’s flight FL1108 will leave MKE at 9:10 a.m. each Saturday and arrive at Cancun International Airport (CUN) at 1:05 p.m. local time. In the other direction, flight FL1109 will depart CUN at 2:00 p.m. and reach MKE at 5:38 p.m. local time.

The airline is also increasing its services from Milwaukee to Tampa and Phoenix to twice-daily for the summer, from May 3.

Additionally, AirTran will resume seasonal service between Tampa and Asheville, North Carolina on May 6. Each  Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, AirTran’s flight FL1273 will push back from the gate at Tampa International Airport (TPA) at 2:01 p.m. and get to Asheville Regional Airport (AVL) at 3:32 p.m. In the other direction, flight FL1274 will leave AVL at 4:12 p.m. and arrive at TPA at 5:45 p.m.

AirTran Airways is also launching service from Tampa to Key West, Florida on March 10 and to San Juan, Puerto Rico, on April 5.
