AeroMexico is launching new services from San Francisco to Morelia and León-Bajío on April 7, and from Chicago O'Hare to Morelia on June 7.

AeroMexico is launching new services from San Francisco to Morelia and León-Bajío on April 7, and from Chicago O’Hare to Morelia on June 7.

The airline will operate these flights under its Aeromexico Contigo brand, which is aimed at passengers traveling frequently between Mexico and the United States.

AeroMexico’s schedule for its new San Francisco-Morelia service will see flight AM617 leave San Francisco International Airport (IATA code SFO) at 10:15 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from April 7 and land at Morelia’s General Francisco J. Mujica International Airport (MLM) at 4:11 a.m. the following morning, local time.

In the other direction, AeroMexico flight AM616 will depart MLM at 6:00 a.m. on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from April 7 and arrive at SFO at 8:35 a.m. local time.

The airline’s schedule for its service linking San Francisco with León-Bajío calls for its flight AM640 to push back from the gate at SFO at 10:17 p.m. on Thursdays and Sundays from April 7,  in order to reach Guanajuato International Airport (BJX, also known as Del Bajío International Airport, which serves both León and Bajio) at 4:05 a.m. the following morning, local time.

In the other direction, flight AM641 is timed to begin taxiing at BJX at 6:00 a.m. on Mondays and Fridays and to touch down at SFO at 8:25 a.m. local time.

From June 8, AeroMexico’s flight AM619 linking Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD) with Morelia’s General Francisco Mujica International Airport will leave ORD at 3:39 a.m. on Sundays and get to MLM at 8:04 a.m. local time.

In the other direction, flight AM618 will depart MLM at 9:38 p.m. on Saturdays from June 7 and arrive at ORD at 1:30 a.m. the following morning, local time.

AeroMexico is operating these new services with Boeing 737-800 jets configured for the Aeromexico Contigo program, which offers passengers the option to carry bulky luggage.

In this configuration each AeroMexico Boeing 737-800 has 174 seats, 18 of which are in the AM Plus section where passengers have greater legroom.

AeroMexico operates an all-Boeing lfeet that includes Boeing 737-700s, 737-800s (One is seen here at New York JFK), Boeing 767-200ERs and Boeing 777s. AeroMexico has also signed a lease deal with ILFC to operate Boeing 787s

AeroMexico is also amending its San Francisco-Guadalajara flight schedule in order to make it more convenient for passengers.

The new schedule will see flight AM663 depart SFO at 9:35 a.m. every day except Wednesdays and arrive at Guadalajara’s Don Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla International Airport (GDL) at 3:29 p.m. local time.

In the other direction, AeroMexico’s flight AM662 will leave GDL at 6:50 p.m. every day except Tuesdays and touch down at SFO at 9:00 p.m. local time.
