AeroMexico will begin using Boeing 787s for some of its flights between Mexico City and Los Angeles.
From April 5, SkyTeam Alliance member AeroMexico will operate four round-trips a week on the Mexico City-Los Angeles route with Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners.

AeroMexico’s first group of Boeing 787s, all of them leased, includes nine Boeing 787-8s. The carrier received its first 787-8 on August 16, 2013
“We want our passengers to enjoy a better travel experience with the addition of the Boeing 787 on the Mexico City-Los Angeles [route] ‒ which is the route in which we offer more frequencies in the U.S. and that we have flown for almost 60 years ‒ while significantly increasing our seat and cargo capacity between these cities,” says Anko van der Werff, AeroMexico’s chief revenue officer.
A Boeing 787-8 will operate AeroMexico’s flight AM019 from Mexico City’s Aeropuerto Internacional Benito Juárez (IATA code MEX) to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) on Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays from April 5.
Flight AM019 will depart MEX at 10:30 a.m. and land at LAX at 12:35 p.m. local time.
In the other direction, also operated by a Boeing 787-8, flight AM647 will leave LAX at 2:20 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays from April 5 and arrive at MEX at 7:55 p.m. local time.
According to AeroMexico, it is continuing to strengthen its presence at Los Angeles International Airport.
The carrier says it has increased its weekly capacity 10 per cent overall on its five daily flights to Los Angeles from Mexico City, two non-stop and direct daily flights from Guadalajara and one daily flight from Hermosillo.
