World Airways Extends MD-11F Contract with Etihad Crystal Cargo

Global Aviation Holdings, Inc. subsidiary World Airways has extended a contract with Etihad Crystal Cargo to provide two Boeing MD-11F cargo aircraft on a wet-lease basis into 2011, operating on scheduled routes to Europe, Asia and Africa.

“World Airways has provided Etihad Crystal Cargo with international MD-11 cargo service since 2007,” says Brian Bauer, Global Aviation Holdings’ chief commercial officer. “We are pleased to continue our business relationship with this award-winning airline.”

Abu Dhabi’s Etihad Airways introduced all-cargo services in February 2005 and currently operates two Airbus A300-600RF regional freighters as well as recently taking delivery of its first A330-200F, as the launch customer for the new type. Etihad Crystal Cargo won the “Air Cargo Industry Customer Care Award” in 2010.

Established in 2004, Etihad Crystal Cargo is the cargo division of Etihad Airways. From its hub at Abu Dhabi International Airport, Etihad Crystal Cargo offers its customers a range of cargo services linked to its expanding international route network and aircraft fleet.

Etihad Crystal Cargo’s schedule includes services to 20 Middle East and African destinations, 17 European destinations, 18 Indian Sub-Continent destinations and 15 Far East and Australian destinations. Etihad Crystal Cargo’s network includes 11 freighter-only destinations: Bangalore, Erbil, Guangzhou, Hahn, Kolkata, Kabul, Nairobi, N’djamena, Shanghai, Tianjin and Tripoli.
