Dublin-based aircraft leasing company AWAS has delivered the second of two planned Boeing 737-700 passenger jets to Enerjet, a passenger charter operator in Canada.

Both Boeing 737-700 aircraft come from AWAS’ current fleet portfolio. Enerjet has been operating Boeing 737-700s since it began flying in 2008.

Calgary-based charter carrier Enerjet usually operates a fleet comprised entirely of Boeing 737-700s, but has been known to operate 737-800 equipment as well. This is one of its 737-700s

“These aircraft fit our strategic plan to offer highly reliable and fuel efficient modern aircraft to our charter clients,” says Tim Morgan, president & CEO of Enerjet. “We are very pleased that AWAS was able to customize the leasing solution to fit Enerjet’s specific requirements.”

According to AWAS, the aircraft will enable Enerjet to capitalize on growing passenger charter opportunities within the energy, defense, public sector and tourism markets.

“Enerjet is a growing and important player in the Canadian charter market, and we are proud to add them as a new customer,” says Ray Sisson, president & CEO of AWAS.

“Our ability to quickly respond to Enerjet’s lift requirement and aligning with their business plan allowed us to craft a tailored solution for them,” said Ruben Sanchez, VP sales Americas for AWAS.  “We look forward to growing along with them for many years to come.”

AWAS owns a portfolio of more than 240 modern aircraft and has 80-plus aircraft on order from Airbus and Boeing, including a number of next-generation aircraft. The aircraft portfolio is on lease to more than 90 airline customers in 47 countries. The AWAS fleet features a full range of the most popular aircraft types, including both narrowbody and widebody aircraft.

In addition to its headquarters in Dublin, AWAS has offices in New York, Miami, and Singapore. The company is owned by London-based private equity firm Terra Firma.

Calgary-based Enerjet has been operating since 2008 and has charter customers in the energy, construction, defense, public sector, and travel and tourism markets.  The carrier is licensed to offer charter, scheduled, domestic and international flights.
