American Eagle to Serve Two South Dakota Cities from DFW

American Eagle Airlines is launching non-stop daily jet service between Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) and two cities in South Dakota ― Sioux Falls and Rapid City  ― on April 6.

The carrier, which is American Airlines’ regional sister carrier, will operate the year-round services with 50-seat Embraer ERJ-145 regional jets.

In addition to the new service from DFW, American Eagle will also begin service to Sioux Falls Regional Airport (FSD) and Rapid City Regional Airport (RAP) from its hub at Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD) on April 6. The airline will operates three daily round-trips on the Chicago-Sioux Falls route, on a year-round basis. Its twice-daily flights between Chicago and Rapid City will, however, only operate throughout the summer season.

American Eagle will also operate the daily Chicago-South Dakota flights using 50-seat Embraer ERJ-145s.

The introduction of one of Eagle’s two previously announced seasonal flights from Chicago to Rapid City has been accelerated so the flight also begins on April 6 and ends on October 31. The second Chicago-Rapid City flight begins as scheduled on June 10 and runs through September 7.

American Eagle’s schedule between Dallas/Fort Worth and Sioux Falls (all times local) will see flight AA2737 departing DFW at 7:00 p.m. and arriving at FSD at 9:05 p.m. The next morning, flight AA2793 leaves FSD at 7:45 a.m.and arrives at DFW at 10:00 a.m. (American Eagle’s first FSD-DFW flight will operate on April 7, whereas its first DFW-FSD flight departs on April 6.)

The regional carrier’s schedule between Rapid City and Dallas/Fort Worth (all times local) will see flight AA2813 departing DFW at 12:15 p.m. and arriving at RAP at 1:40 p.m. The return flight, AA2814, pushes back at RAP at 2:10 p.m. to make a 5:30 p.m. arrival at DFW.

American Eagle’s April 6 schedule for seasonal service between Rapid City and Chicago (all times local)  sees flight AA4046 depart ORD at 8:05 a.m. and arrive at RAP at 9:20 a.m. In the ohter direction, flight AA4086 is timed to leave RAP at 9:45 a.m. and arrive at ORD at 12:45 p..m.

The schedule for the three-times-daily flights between Chicago and Sioux Falls (all times local) calls for flight AA3715 to leave FSD at 7:00 a.m. and arrive at ORD at 8:27 a.m. (This flight begins on April 7.) Flight AA3717 is timed to depart FSD at 11:20 a.m. and reach ORD at 12:47 p.m., while flight AA3719 is scheduled to depart FSD at 6:25 p.m. and land at ORD at 7:52 p.m.

In the other direction, flight AA3718 is timed to leave ORD at 9:05 a.m. and reach FSD at 10:55 a.m. Flight AA3720 is scheduled to push back at ORD at 4:15 p.m. to make a 6:00 p.m. arrival at FSD, while flight AA3722 is timed to depart ORD at 8:35 p.m. and land at FSD at 10:25 p.m.
