American Eagle Airlines begins serving Sioux Falls Regional Airport (FSD) in South Dakota from Chicago O’Hare International Airport on April 6, 2010, offering three daily nonstop jet flights.
The airline will operate the service with 50-seat Embraer ERJ-145 regional jets. The carrier has served Sioux Falls from O’Hare in the past, according to Gary Foss, American Airlines’ vice president planning and marketing for the AA regional network.
Seasonal jet service by American Eagle to Rapid City Regional Airport (RAP), also in South Dakota, from Chicago O’Hare begins on June 10, 2010. American Eagle will operate the two daily flights using 44-seat Embraer ERJ-140s. The seasonal service will end on September 24, 2010.
American Eagle is one of very few carriers to operate the 44-seat Embraer ERJ-140, a smaller sibling of the ERJ-145
The schedule for the daily flights between Sioux Falls and Chicago (all times local) will see flight EGF3715 departing FSD at 7:00 a.m. (from April 7, 2010) and arriving at ORD at 8:27 a.m. Flight EGF3717 is timed to leave FSD at 11:20 a.m. and reach ORD at 12:47 p.m., with flight EGF 3719 pushing back at FSD at 6:25 p.m. to touch down at ORD at 7:52 p.m.
Going the other way, EGF3718 is timed to leave the gate at ORD at 9:05 a.m. and land at FSD at 10:53 a.m. Flight EGF3720 is scheduled to make a 4:15 p.m. departure from ORD and a 6:00 p.m. arrival at FSD, while flight EGF3722 is timed to push back at ORD at 8:35 p.m. and reach FSD at 10:23 p.m.
The schedule for the flights between Rapid City and Chicago O’Hare from June 10 to September 24, 2010 (all times local) will see flight EGF4086 departing RAP daily at 10:55 a.m. and arrive at ORD at 1:56 p.m. and EGF4089 leave RAP at 5:45 p.m. to make an 8:46 p.m. arrival at ORD.
In the other direction, flight EGF4046 is planned to depart ORD at 8:45 a.m. and reach RAP at 10:18 a.m., with flight EGF4056 leaving ORD at 3:45 p.m. and getting to RAP at 5:18 p.m.
