Allegiant to Serve Las Vegas from Minot, North Dakota

by Staff on August 25, 2010

Allegiant Air is beginning twice-weekly nonstop jet service between Minot, North Dakota and Las Vegas on October 22.

The fast-growing low-cost carrier, a subsidiary of Allegiant Travel Company, will introduce the new service to Minot residents with one-way fares priced from $69.99 plus government taxes and fees and Allegiant Air’s own fees, which include its almost-unavoidable “convenience fees”  for booking using any means other than in person at one of Allegiant Air’s airport ticket desks.

Allegiant’s $69.99 one-way introductory fare is limited, must be purchased by September 15 and is valid for travel through January 31, 2011. Introductory fares are not available on all flights. After the introductory fare period, regular one-way fares on the route start from $84.99 one-way plus taxes and fees. Reservations can be made on the company’s website at www.allegiant.com or by calling the company at 702-505-8888.

“We’re pleased to bring an affordable and convenient travel option to Minot,” says Andrew Levy, Allegiant Travel Company’s president. “We are confident the residents of Minot will appreciate the value of flying nonstop to Vegas and the great deals we offer on hotels, car rentals and show tickets. We look forward to a very successful partnership with the Minot International Airport and community officials.”

“The Allegiant announcement is icing on the cake this year!” says Andrew Solsvig, Minot International Airport’s airport director. “After recently starting new airline service and two new hub markets that increased daily seats by more than 50 per cent, Las Vegas service became our next goal. This new air service announcement represents Allegiant’s confidence in this market. The Minot community and region will now have access to one of the best leisure destinations on the planet.”

“We welcome Allegiant to Minot,” says Minot Mayor Curt Zimbelman. “Expanding our air service has been the result of cooperative unflagging efforts by city leaders, airport staff and community representatives. As our area continues to grow, so do our travel options. The addition of United Airlines, Delta’s expansion and now Allegiant’s Las Vegas service means Minot has options to travel the world!”

The new flights will operate twice weekly between Minot International Airport (MOT) and McCarran International Airport (LAS), with service on Mondays and Fridays. Flights will depart Minot at 12:10 p.m., arriving in Las Vegas at 1:00 p.m. local time.

Flights leaving Las Vegas will depart at 6:50 a.m. and land at Minot at 11:30 a.m. local time. Allegiant Air will use single-class, 150-seat McDonnell Douglas MD-80 jets on the route.

Allegiant Travel Company offers air and hotel vacation packages with more than 40 Las Vegas hotel properties, including Wynn Las Vegas, Bellagio, Venetian-Resort-Hotel-Casino, Paris Las Vegas, MGM Grand Hotel & Casino, Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, Caesars Palace, Red Rock Casino-Resort-Spa, Golden Nugget Las Vegas, South Point Hotel, Casino & Spa, Four Queens Hotel & Casino, ARIA Resort & Casino and many more.
