Allegiant Air Adds Service between Northwest Arkansas and Phoenix-Mesa

by Staff on September 15, 2010

Allegiant Air is launching service between Northwest Arkansas Regional Airport and Phoenix-Mesa on November 18.

The carrier will introduce the new service to Northwest Arkansas with fares from $64.99 one-way, plus government taxes and fees and Allegiant Air’s almost-unavoidable “convenience” fees. The airline’s $64.99 one-way introductory fare is limited, must be purchased by October 5, 2010, and is valid for travel through March 8, 2011. Introductory fares are not available on all flights.

After the introductory fare period, regular one-way fares on the route start from $79.99 one-way plus taxes and fees. Reservations can be made on the company’s website at www.allegiant.com or by calling 702-505-8888.

As Allegiant Air continues to take delivery of more McDonnell Douglas MD-80s it has purchased in used-aircraft deals, the low-cost carrier continues to add new destinations to its network

“On behalf of the Authority’s Board of Directors, I thank Allegiant for giving the people of Northwest Arkansas yet another new destination,” says Philip Taldo, chairman of the board of the Northwest Arkansas Regional Airport Authority. “I know from my conversations with people throughout our region, the addition of Allegiant and its low-cost service has been very well received. I’m sure Phoenix will also become another very popular destination. It is also very rewarding to see Allegiant expanding its services from XNA during tough economic times.”

Allegiant Air’s new flights will operate twice weekly between Northwest Arkansas Regional Airport (XNA) and Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport (IWA), with service on Thursdays and Sundays. Flights will depart XNA at 8:25 p.m., arriving at IWA at 10:05 p.m. Flights leaving IWA will depart at 4:20 p.m. to reach XNA at 7:45 p.m. (All times are local).

The airline also offers nonstop service from XNA to three other destinations: Las Vegas, Los Angeles and Orlando-Sanford, Florida.
