AirTran Airways is beginning four-times-weekly service from Orlando to Key West, Florida on December 17.
The airline says it will be the only carrier to offer full-sized, commercial jet access to the island. AirTran will operate Boeing 737-700s to fly nonstop from Orlando International Airport (MCO), with the flights also being timed to provide same-plane service from Atlanta.
AirTran Airways also says its flights to Key West International Airport (EYW) will mark the first time a major, low-cost carrier will provide scheduled service to the southernmost point in the mainland United States.
“Key West is one of the destinations that is most requested by customers in our hometown of Orlando and across our network, ” says Kevin Healy, senior vice president, marketing and planning for AirTran Airways. “We are thrilled to add the Conch Republic to the AirTran network.”
AirTran Airways says it offers more destinations from Orlando than any other airline, including other recently announced flights to Montego Bay, Jamaica, and Nassau, Bahamas.
The carrier’s Orlando-Key West schedule envisages AirTran’s flight FL868 departing MCO on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays at 11:30 a.m. to arrive at EYW at 12:40 p.m. The return flight, FL864, is timed to leave EYW at 1:30 p.m. to reach MCO at 2:40 p.m.

I like to travel with AirTran from Jamaica to conch republic. Please send to me your daily operation chart on the route.
Please contact the airline directly or check its schedule at http://www.airtran.com for connections that will get you from Jamaica to Key West. I don’t think Airtran has a direct flight between the two destinations.
