AirTran Airways will begin nonstop service between Lexington, Kentucky and Florida destinations Fort Lauderdale and Orlando on February 11 and February 12, 2010, respectively.
The airline will operate three-times-weekly service between Lexington’s Blue Grass Airport (LEX) and Fort Lauderdale International Airport (FLL) on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. AirTran’s service between Blue Grass Airport and Orlando International Airport (MCO) will be four times weekly, on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
The Boeing 717 is the workhorse of the AirTran Airways fleet, but the carrier is planning to begin replacing its oldest 717s (some 10 years old in 2009) with a new type in four or five years' time
Beginning February 11, 2010, AirTran’s schedule between Lexington and Fort Lauderdale has flight FL1260 leaving FLL at 12:25 p.m. and arriving at LEX at 2:40 p.m. The return flight, FL1261, is scheduled to depart LEX at 3:15 p.m. and arrive at FLL at 5:30 p.m.
From February 12, 2010, AirTran’s flight FL1250 is scheduled to leave MCO at 1:15 p.m. and arrive at LEX at 3:10 p.m. The return lfight, FL1251, is timed to push back at LEX at 3:45 p.m. and reach MCO at 5:40 p.m.
Between LEX and FLL in either direction, AirTran’s lowest advance-purchase leisure fare (one-way) will be $109, while its lowest one-way walk-up fare will be $189 and its lowest business-class fare will be $259. These one-way fare quotes do not include taxes and fees.
In either direction between LEX and MCO, AirTran’s lowest advance-purchase leisure fare (one-way) will be $99, while its lowest one-way walk-up fare will be $189 and its lowest business-class fare will be $259. Again, these one-way fare quotes do not include taxes and fees.
