Indonesian regional carrier PT Sky Aviation has signed a contract to purchase 12 Sukhoi Superjet 100/95Bs, at the Moscow International Aviation and Space Salon (MAKS-2011).
The contract firms a heads of agreement (HOA) which originally indicated PT Sky Aviation’s interest in ordering the 12 aircraft. The HOA was signed by PT Sky Aviation and Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company at the 2011 Paris Airshow.
Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company values PT Sky Aviation’s order at $379.2 million at list prices. The purchase contract was signed by Krisman Tarigan, president director of Sky Aviation, and Vladimir Prisyazhnyuk, president of Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company.
Deliveries of the 12 Superjet 100/95Bs to PT Sky Aviation are scheduled to begin in 2012.
“PT Sky Aviation is a new airline successfully developing an upcoming route network in the Southeast Asia market,” said Prisyazhnyuk. “No doubt the operational capacity and superior performance of the Sukhoi Superjet 100 will contribute to the dynamic development of the airline’s route network. And it will help SSJ100 to acquire a confident position in the region.”
Operating commercial services since early 2011, PT Sky Aviation is a member of the Petroneks Energy group of companies.
Its fleet will consist of six aircraft types – the Superjet 100; the Fokker 50; the Cessna 208B Grand Caravan; the Cirrus SR20 and Cirrus SR22 four-seat aircraft; and the GECI Aviation Skylander SK-105, a new 19-seat turboprop to be manufactured at Chambley-Bussières Air Base in Lorraine in France and planned to enter service in the fourth quarter of 2012.
PT Sky Aviation operates a regional and charter route network between Surabaya, Banyuwangi and Denpasar. From Batam, Palembang and Surabaya, Sky Aviation also provides scheduled flights to new destinations not served by other airlines.
