An existing customer, which has requested to remain unidentified for now, has placed an additional conditional order for seven Bombardier CS300 airliners and has acquired purchase rights for six more.

Announcing the undisclosed existing customer’s conditional order on July 16 at the Farnborough International Airshow 2014, the manufacturer valued the conditional firm order for the seven Bombardier CSeries jets at approximately US$553 million.

“The CSeries airliner, with its best in-class economics, advanced technology and outstanding performance, will be instrumental in replacing older, less efficient aircraft presenting challenges because of high fuel costs and heightened environmental awareness,” said Ray Jones, senior vice president, sales, marketing and asset management for Bombardier Commercial Aircraft.

“We are delighted that one of our existing customers is once again recognizing the CSeries jetliner’s unmatched flexibility and we congratulate our customer that has confidently ordered seven more aircraft,” added Jones.

“We are very optimistic about the current status of our order book, which stands at 513 orders and commitments. We are well on our way to reach our target for 300 firm orders by entry-into-service, and have already achieved our 20 customer goal,” said Jones.
