The new, twice-weekly round-trip will provide the only non-stop service to Curaçao from New York, according to JetBlue Airways. It will operate the flights on Tuesdays and Saturdays from December 2, subject to receiving government operating authority.
With this delivery, ANA now has 29 Boeing 787 jets in its fleet, more than any other operator in the world. ANA has 29 more 787-9s on order and holds commitments for 14 more.
Airbus is likely to be particularly unhappy because Skymark Airlines’ first A380 is already flying, having performed its first flight on April 8. The aircraft was due for delivery by 2015, so Skymark Airlines has given Airbus little notice of its intention to cancel its six-A380 order.
